The promotion of the culture of olive oil among children, in this area the oil mill has the collaboration of the Environmental Education Center "GRANJA SCHOOL PARAPANDA".
For the realization of the different activities, a children's animal named "TUNA" has been created, which serves as a vehicle through which to introduce the child to the culture and values of olive oil. It has the edition of different didactic materials, such as: "The tuna of Tuna" and "The game of the goose of Tuna the olive".
The activities that are carried out are:
The Tuna Mill: This is a workshop for the preparation of the oil that begins with the collection of olives and subsequent grinding through the traditional system of oil extraction, and culminates with obtaining a small amount of oil for each participant, packaging and labeling in glass bottle.
Campaign for the promotion of the olive tree in schools: This campaign takes place during the month of January and goes to schools in Granada. The participating center is visited by the C.E.A. Farm-School Parapanda, a small olive tree is planted that the students of the course in question must care throughout the year, and are given to each child participating in a bottle of ¼ L. of AOVE and teaching material of Tuna.
